Steven Leon Fisher

April 28, 1953 — February 2, 2016

Fisher, Steven L. (age 62) with loved ones by his side, entered into rest on February 2, 2016, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.  Born and raised in the Silver Valley, Steve grew up in Pinehurst, ID, attended local schools, and worked at several of the area mines. In 1981, he married Dawn Berg and together they spent 34 wonderful years together.  In 1982, Steve received an Associates of Applied Science in Radiation Safety after attending a program for miners who were laid off from local mines. He, then, began his career in Radiation Protection at Hanford.  In December 1987, Steve and Dawn left for Oswego, NY, where they worked at the local power plants until returning to the Silver Valley in 1995.  Steve was a member of North Hill Masonic Lodge #210, and Sadir Khan Grotto.     Steve was preceded in death by his loving mother, Pennee Fisher; newly reunited brother, Tomm Heyn; his grateful father-in-law, Casey Berg; and recently by his cousin, David Dorton.  He is survived by his best friend and wife, Dawn; two beautiful daughters, Stephanie Moore (Kyle DiRaimo and family) of Woodland, WA and Renee' Fisher (Patrick Cornelius) of Osburn, ID; his father, Robert "Bob" Fisher of Pinehurst; brothers, Mardy (Janel) Fisher of Cataldo, Darrell (Lisa) Fisher of Post Falls, Ron (Linda) Heyn of Eagle, ID; sisters, Linda (Ray) Tokola of Brush Prairie, WA, Cathy (Bob) Gordineer of Creswell, OR; sister-in-law, Susie Heyn of Phoenix, AZ; mother-in-law, Myrtle Berg of Spokane; in-laws, Kim (Jill) Berg of Spokane, and Carla (Robert) Gallegos of Blanchard, ID; grandchildren, Melissa, Christina, and Anthony Moore Jr., all of Woodland, WA; aunts, Helen Mitchell, Betty Colson, Wilma Dorton, and Eline Berg; his precious nieces, nephews and their families; numerous cousins and friends.   Memorial service will begin at 1:00pm on Sunday, February, 14, 2016 at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY 4305 N Division, Spokane, WA followed by a reception at Millwood Masonic Temple, 3219 N Argonne Rd., Millwood, WA   Steve's family would like to thank the staff at Hospice House South for the wonderful care, support, and love they give, not only to their patients, but to their families as well.
