April 7, 1938 - January 29, 2016 Tom, 77, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, went home to his Lord Jesus surrounded by family in Spokane, WA on Jan 29, 2016 following complications from 16 years of Parkinson's. Born April 7,1938 to I.A. (Red) and Marion (De Neut) Antles in Holland, MI, he lived there until age 18 (1956) when he joined the Air Force as a Missile Guidance System Technician stationed at Fairchild AFB, Spokane. There he met his wife of 55 years, Prudence (Roberts), and was married in 1960. That same year he started a lifelong career with the FAA as a radar and electronics technician. In 1968 his career led him to Guam where his family experienced a tropical paradise of beaches, snorkeling, hiking, sailing as well as exotic vacations to the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and Saipan. In 1976 he brought his family back to Spokane where he would take them on extended summer camping vacations across the US as well as winter trips to Hawaii. Tom finished his career as a manager in Spokane, and then in the 90's worked in Renton planning the installation and upgrade of airport radar and communications systems. Tom retired in 1998 and returned to Spokane where he continued his love for travel all over the US with his wife, kids and relatives, often in his 30 ft 5th wheel camper. He is survived by his wife Prudence; three children: Thomas II, Eugene (wife Cristina) and Deborah Thompson; two siblings: Shirley (Pink) Bossardet (husband Tom) and Jack Antles (wife Karen); eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nephews and nieces, and many friends. A memorial service will be held for Tom on Saturday, February 20th, 2016 at the Turning Point Open Bible church, 11911 N Division St, Spokane, WA 99218, at 2:00 p.m.
