Irene Janet Stoddard

Stoddard, Irene Janet (age 76) peacefully passed from this world to her heavenly home on May 7, 2009. She was born to Frederick (Fritz) and Hannah Schultz on April 30, 1933 in Kenmare, ND. Irene attended school in Coulee, ND until age 10 when the family moved to Kenmare. She graduated from Kenmare High School where she met many life-long friends. Irene married George A. Stoddard on May 30, 1952. In 1955, they moved to Spokane, WA where she spent the remainder of her life. In 1972, after the children were raised, she went back to school to become a LPN, and she enjoyed her work very much. Her greatest pleasure was spending time and sharing with family and friends. Through the years she enjoyed crocheting, reading, working in her yard and the heated Salvation Army pool. Irene got her first computer in 1999 and enjoyed e-mailing and creating cards for the pleasure of many. She is survived by her three children, Janet (Tom) Lieurance, Georgette (Rusty) Wadsworth, and Rodney Stoddard; two grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers. Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 5:00PM Monday, May 11 at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division, Spokane, WA. A memorial service will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 in the Sunset Mausoleum Chapel 5200 W.
