GOODBRAKE, Donald W., MSGT USAF (Ret.) (Age 93) – Born on October 31, 1922 in Vandalia, Illinois to Harold and Lula Goodbrake. He served as a truck driver in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he witnessed the bombing of Pearl Harbor from Ft. Schafter. Don joined the newly created U.S. Air Force, working as a purchasing agent for the government. He was stationed in Hawaii, New York, Greece and England. While stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, he met and married Sigrid Johnson on May 15, 1955. Don enjoyed woodworking, traveling and collecting old movies. Don passed away on April 6, 2016 in Spokane, WA. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marcella; wife, and daughter, Karen Cooley. Don is survived by his daughter, Susan McInnis; grandsons, David (his wife, Tara) and Paul McInnis; granddaughter, Linda Hall. No public services will be held.
