Donna Doreen Egger

Donna Egger passed away on July 27, 2016 from health complications in Spokane, WA. Her brothers and sisters surrounded her with their love as she left this world. Donna was the youngest of John J. and Mildred Egger’s seven children. She grew up in the family home cherished by devoted parents and protective brothers and sisters. As a youngster, she happily attended Spokane’s Guild School and Bryant School. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and other beloved family members. Following her parents’ deaths, Donna’s sister Patti and Patti’s husband Terry took her into their loving care and opened Donna’s world to many resources available to individuals with special needs including programs at East and West Central Community Centers, Center Pointe, and Spokane Parks Therapeutic Recreation Services. Donna loved to be on the go, and these programs helped her experience great social contacts and wonderful adventures. Donna was a very important part of the Egger family and enthusiastically participated in lots of family events throughout the years. When it came time to start the dancing, Donna was always the first one on the floor. Donna is survived by her brothers and sisters: Wally Egger (Kathy), Bill Egger (Nora), John M. Egger, Patti Trueman (Terry), Peggy Clemons (Neil), Judy Louvier (William), as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone who assisted and befriended Donna. A special thanks to Stacie Wachholz, who became Donna’s best friend and “fourth sister”. Most recently as Donna’s health declined, she received skilled and compassionate care from staff and caregivers through Arc’s Residential Services, Manor Care Health Services, and Hospice of Spokane. If there are angels on this earth, these great friends to Donna deserve the halos. Thank you. Memorial services will be conducted by family friend Dr. Michael Gurian at Riplinger Funeral Home Chapel, 4305 N. Division on Thursday, August 4th, 7 P.M. Donna will be laid to rest next to her parents at Holy Cross Cemetery in a private ceremony. Donations can be made in Donna Egger’s name to The Arc of Spokane, 320 E 2nd Ave., Spokane, WA 99202-1402.
