Gunderson, Florence G. (age 94) was a lifelong resident of Spokane and passed away on June 15, 2009. She was born on August 20, 1914, the daughter of Sivert and Ragna Gunderson both of whom immigrated from Norway. She went to Willard Grade School and graduated from North Central High School in 1933. After graduation, the class continued to meet for several years. Florence is survived by two nephews, Wayne Johnson of Wenatchee, WA and William Johnson of Portland, OR; one niece, Kristin Mikler of Naples, FL and their families. She had one sister, Agnes Johnson who passed away in June of 2003. In addition, there were many cousins in various locations in Norway. Florence was employed by G.A. Kyarness, CPA, and the Madison Lumber & Mill Co. where she was Secretary/Treasurer and office manager. She was with the company over 35 years. Before retiring, she was the civil clerk in the Spokane County Clerk’s office. Florence was a member of the Spokane Camera Club for over 46 years and as historian, compiled a scrapbook covering over 60 years of club activities. Other hobbies she enjoyed were china painting, needlework, and traveling was a priority – her favorite trips being to Norway where she kept in contact with a number of cousins. In addition to the Camera Club, she was a lifelong member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, a member of the Photographic Society of America, and a charter member of the Inland Empire Chapter of PSA. Memorial contributions can be made to the Union Gospel Mission of Spokane, Ogden Hall Shelter for Women & Children of Spokane, or to the American Health Assistance Foundation for Macular Degeneration Research 22512 Gateway Center Dr., Clarksburg, MD 20871. Graveside service will be 12:00 noon Monday, June 22, 2009 at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N.
