He was born on September 25, 1907 in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota to Herman and Martha (Orth) Krueger where his parents farmed and raised hogs. Stueber in Clyman, WI. Together they raised their family of eight children. Ed was the pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Mandan, ND, First Lutheran in Green Bay, WI and Our Savior Lutheran in Monte Vista, CO. He retired in 1987, however continued to serve and help at Our Savior Church in Sun City West, AZ and Shepherd of the Valley in Surprise, AZ. After the death of his wife Ruth in 1982, Ed married Ester Lemke. Ester preceded him in death in 2002. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, and playing cards. He golfed well into his 90’s, finally acquiescing to miniature golf. Ed moved at the age of 101 to Spokane to be near his daughter. He is survived by his children, E. James (Summer) of Santa Barbara, CA, Lo Ann of Ketchum, ID, Bruce of Tomah, WI, Bonnie (Bill) Hudson, of Scottsdale, AZ, John (JoAnn) of Tulsa, OK, Mark (Cindy) of Green Bay, WI, Margaret “Peggy” (Mike) Thorpe of Spokane, WA, and Marlo (Marlene) Lemke of Starkville, MS, and Faith (David) Brooks of Florissant, MO; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents; brother, Leonard; wives, Ruth and Ester; and his daughter, Margot St. Clair, preceded Ed in death. Ed was loved by all who were privileged to know him, and he will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 10, 2009 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church 14650 W. Bell Rd., Surprise, AZ with Pastor John Sprain officiating.
