Collier, Arlene E. (age 90) entered into rest on July 4, 2009 in Redmond, WA. A lifelong resident of Spokane, Arlene was born on March 11, 1919 in Spokane to parents Nels and Edith Stribley Nelson. Arlene lived on Joseph Ave. her entire life. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1935. Arlene married Mike E. Collier in 1943 and after 50 wonderful years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 1994. Arlene was a homemaker, bookkeeper, and church organist at the Hillyard Congregational Church for many years. She was a member of the Ivanhoe Chapter of Eastern Star, Sorelle Club, and Alpha Tri Girls Club. She loved and cherished her family, her home, caring for her beautiful yard and flowers, and playing the piano. Arlene is survived by her son, Craig (Barbara) Collier of Bath, Maine; daughter , Joy (Jose) Eballar; grandchildren, Jennifer Eballar and Justin Eballar; great grandson, Alexander Eballar-Barnes, who were the light of her life, all of Bellevue, WA; daughter-in-law, Melanie Collier of Kaapua, HI; and many extended family and friends whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mike, and her son, Michael A. Collier in 2005. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division, Spokane, WA with interment following at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
