EDWARDS, E. Jeanne (nee-Robnett) – Born in Spokane on July 15, 1928, Jeanne, passed away on October 31, 2016 also in her beloved Spokane. She attended local schools and graduated from North Central H.S. in 1946, going on to attend Spokane Falls C.C. Jeanne was preceded by her husband, Earl Edwards in 2002. During her lifetime, Jeanne brought energy and elegance to all she did. She was a devoted employee of Sacred Heart Hospital, where she began her career in 1964 –before, the expansion and construction of the now Sacred Heart Medical Center. She alone calculated the pay of all the employees before the introduction of computers. She later became the Head of a team of Timekeepers at SHMC. She was likewise devoted to causes and organizations that served the citizens of Spokane as well as visitors who came here in need of medical services. Jeanne was also proud to serve as a Spokane Lilac Festival Director and to be a Past Potentate’s Lady of El Katif Shriners. Traveling was an adventure Jeanne relished, and she did her best to see and experience fascinating people and places around the world. She was also an avid gardener and family gatherings, amongst the lush and fragrant beauty of her yard, continue to provide lasting and happy memories. Jeanne is survived by her devoted and loving companion, Lee Hubenthal; her children, Cheri McQuesten (Mike) of Colbert, Gary Rickel (Mary) of Edmonds, WA, Rodger Rickel (Bev) of Elk, WA, and Ron Rickel (Dawna) of Chattaroy, WA; a brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Jeanne Robnett of Federal Way, WA; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Rockwood at Hawthorne, 101 E Hawthorne Rd on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 2:30 PM. Only because of a limited seating capacity, the service will be for family, Rockwood residents, and invited guests. A private burial service will precede at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
