ELLER, Ora G. (age 89) longtime resident of Spokane, WA born Nov. 3, 1919 in Whitetail, MT went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 24, 2009. Ora was the daughter of Alden Delno and Martha Dryden, parents of nine children: Lloyd Arvid, Ora, Don, Delno, Glenn, Velva, Jay & Jeannie (twins) and Larry Dryden. Ora was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Eller. Ora was highly intelligent and an outstanding student. She graduated Valedictorian from Noxon High School in Montana and was awarded a scholarship to Kinman Business College in Spokane, WA. While in Spokane she met Douglas Eller and they later married. Together they had three children: Richard “Dick” (Bobbi) Phoenix, AZ; Raymond (Sue) Spokane, WA; Donna (Kendall) Sherman, Anacortes, WA. Grandchildren: from Dick’s family are daughters Michelle (Jeff) Koch and Suzanna Eller (Aron Demsky). From Raymond’s family are LaRae (Dennis) Murray, Scott (Jan) Eller, Carolyn Eller and Jennifer Eller. From Donna’s family are Dennis (Ginger) Eagle, Bryan (Tara) Eagle and Laura (Keith) Vanderhoof. Great-Grandchildren: from Richard’s family: Benjamin, (Michelle). From Raymond’s family: Brennen and Madesen, (LaRae), Tyler and Katie (Scott), Damian and Desiree (Carolyn.) Donna’s family: Samantha (Dennis), Violetta, Demyan and Danil (Bryan), Caleb and Elizabeth (Laura). It is impossible to list all the wonderful characteristics and energies found in this woman. Always a natural leader, Ora was very active in her church, Spokane Valley Baptist, and with various community organizations, which included many years as a Boy Scout Leader, and later, Girl Scout Leader, Teacher and Leader Trainer. Ora was co-owner and Office Manager for Eller Motors until Ora and husband Doug retired. She had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, fishing, target shooting and huckleberry picking. Ora was an avid Scrabble and Canasta player and sometimes wrote poetry. Family was an integral part of Ora’s life with a vast network of extended family including nieces, nephews, cousins and beyond. Ora was actively involved in the lives of generations of children including her younger siblings, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially loved gatherings with family and friends and frequently prepared incredible desserts like her pies and her famous Apple Dumplings. She always added her quick wit and impish sense of humor to everything she did. She is dearly loved by family and friends and will be remembered and deeply missed. The family is deeply grateful for the wonderful care and attention provided for many years by the staff at Guardian Angel in Liberty Lake. A “Celebration of Life” will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division Spokane, WA.
