YOKUM, Billy J. 1938 ~ 2016 Bill passed away at Manor Care Dec 14 at the age of 78. Born in Kentucky, on September 11th 1938, he was raised on the North Fork of the Clearwater River, in Orofino, ID. Bill graduated from Orofino HS in 1957, and served our Country in the Navy on the ship USS Benefield. He moved to Spokane in 1965, and worked for the City of Spokane for 32 years, as the foreman of the signs and marker department. He enjoyed ‘people watching' at the many activities in and around the Spokane area. He also loved bowling, movies, theater plays, concerts and taking many trips around the United States. But since 1968, he most of all loved going to the Donut Parade. He loved his family unconditionally and will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Helen, son Eulas (Tammie), daughter Aureleen (Jake) and Grandson Dalas Joe, Brother Sam Mechling, Sister Sherry Moos and several nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Beth; Uncles, Eulas and Kenneth. The family would like to thank Holy Family Hospital and Manor Care for their wonderful care of Bill. There will be a celebration of life for Bill at Perkins Restaurant, 12 E Olive Ave., Spokane (just east of the Division St. Bridge over the Spokane River) on Saturday, January 7th 2017 from 10:00 AM till Noon. Burial will take place in Orofino, ID at a later date.
