Michael Francis Paladin "Mike" passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, December 27th, 2016. He was preceded in death by his mother Thelma, father Frank, older sisters Shirley and Diana, and his younger brother Frank. Mike was born on January 27th, 1939 to Frank and Thelma Paladin in Spokane, Washington. He was a lifetime resident of Spokane Valley and graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory School in 1956. Mike lived a rich and fulfilling life. He had a 6 year long military career which included service in the Vietnam War through the United States Army. Following discharge, Mike worked for 46 years on the Northern Pacific/BNSF railway. He retired as Chief Clerk and continued his success as a Real Estate Broker in Spokane for over 42 years. Mike attended mass regularly at St. Mary's Catholic Church. In his free time, he was an active Noble of El Katif Shrine Center. Some of his favorite pastimes included walking in Mirabeau Park with his wife and pugs, spending time with friends and family, and cheering on his favorite teams: the Washington State Cougars and Gonzaga University Bulldogs. He was very involved in the Spokane community and is known and loved by many. Mike is survived by his wife Sharon Paladin; Jody Kinder, from his previous marriage; his children, Michael Francis Paladin II, Toni Grant (Don), Michael Shane Paladin (Lisa), Vaughn Paladin (Angie), Darrin Myrick, and David Wickwire (Ari); and his grandchildren, Devyn, Nicole, Andy, Reilly, Juli, JoLee, Lyndsey, Emily, Cambrie, Connor, and Henry. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. In the spring of 2017, a formal interment will be conducted at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery.
