Daniel Walter Shea

October 15, 1944 — July 30, 2009

SHEA, Daniel W. A longtime resident of Spokane, passed away suddenly on July 30, 2009 at age 64. A no-host gathering will be held Wednesday, September 2, 6:00 pm at the Park Inn, 103 W. 9th Ave. in Spokane. The son of Daniel and Eleanor (Leach) Shea, Dan was born and raised in Everett, MA. He graduated from Everett High School where he was an avid hockey player. Daniel served in the Marines for five years, from 1963-1967, and then settled in Spokane. He enjoyed playing recreational softball in Spokane. He was an engineer for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, starting out with the former Great Northern Railroad in 1969 and retiring in 2006. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Shea of San Diego; three sisters, Barbara True of Derry, NH, Jeanne Zuretti and Elaine Dansereau of Salem, NH, and two brothers, Richard Shea of Windham, NH, and William Shea of Salem, NH. Dan will be greatly missed. A private family service will be held in New Hampshire.
