VAN RIPER, Robert D. (age 77)- Born in Wilmar, MN to Harold and Emma VanRiper on March 21, 1932, Bob entered into rest on August 22, 2009 in Spokane, WA, where he had lived for the last 59 years. Bob graduated from Flat Head High School in Kalispell, MT in 1947. He retired from work as a boilermaker with GARCO Building Systems in 1993, where he had worked for many years as shop foreman. Bob loved fishing, hunting, and watching sports on television, especially, baseball, basketball, and football. He was a member of the NRA and the Eagles Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Lou VanRiper, and by a son, Bobby VanRiper. Bob is survived by his brothers, Harold VanRiper of Sekiu, WA, William VanRiper of Kennewick, WA, and James VanRiper of Spokane, WA; his daughters, Debbie Davison of Spokane, and Julie Clouse of Benton City, WA; his son, Scott VanRiper of Bremerton, WA; seven grandchildren, Bradley, Elijah, Joseph, Abigail, Christopher, Zachary, and Ethan; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 between the hours of 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM at Mission Park in Spokane, WA.
