GENTRY, William Arthur (Age 72) – Bill was born to Raymond and Gertrude Gentry on May 24, 1945 in Lewiston, Idaho. He was raised and went to school in Pomeroy, WA. There he was active in F.F.A., raised sheep and entered them in numerous livestock shows. He went to E.W.U. in Cheney where he graduated in economics and finance. He met Maclynn Konschu on a blind date in 1963 and they were married on September 11, 1965. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, as a tank mechanic for 3 years, which sent him to Okinawa and Vietnam. He was discharged in 1970. In 1972 his family grew with the arrival of a daughter, Robyn. Again, in 1976 he was blessed with a son, Scott. The family moved to Deer Park, WA where they lived for 21 years. He resided in Spokane at the time of his death. He loved to spend time with his kids and grandkids every chance he could. Fishing and woodworking took up a lot of his spare time. He and Maclynn loved to load up the dogs and head off traveling in their R.V.. Bill was a Spokane Police Officer for 20 years and retired in 1994. He was member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Spokane. He is survived by his wife, Maclynn of 51 years; daughter, Robyn Gentry Jentges (Chris); granddaughter, Kate; son, Scott Gentry (Sandra); grandsons, Paul, Bradley and Peter; sister, Evah Hicks; brother, Philip Gentry (Chris); brother, Herman Gentry (Kris). A memorial service will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9706 N. Division St., Spokane on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of St. Luke Lutheran Church.
