Fern M. Bracken

BRACKEN, Fern M. (Age 93) - Born September 14, 1916 in Ft. Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada; entered into rest September 23, 2009 in Spokane, WA. A resident of Spokane for over 50 years. Fern worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for Local Union 44 and Plumbers and Steamfitters for 25 years. She was a member of Heritage Congregational Church, White Rose Chapter #230 Order of the Eastern Star, El Karnak Temple #6 Daughters of the Nile and Soroptimist International of Spokane. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Leigland of Spokane; two granddaughters, Kirsten Leigland and Lindsay Zimmerman both of Portland, OR; one brother, Henry "Bud" Butler of Penticton, British Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Bracken in 2004 and a sister, Jewel O'Hanlon. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave., Spokane, WA.
