Gloria Jean Hines, 74, of Spokane, passed away October 7, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Care Center, where she had received loving & compassionate care since 2007. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 30, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Huron, SD. Gloria was born February 18, 1943 to Elmer G. And Viola (Compton) Hines on the family farm outside of Wessington, SD. She moved to Spokane in 1965. She loved to cook & bake, to spend Saturdays at the historic Looff Carousel in Riverfront Park, country music, and supporting her son in all of his life endeavors. Her heart was full of love and she always had a smile for everyone, in spite of her lifelong struggle with schizophrenia and the resulting physical health issues. Gloria is survived by her son and son-in-law, Rev. Dan Adolphson and Keith Seifert of Minneapolis, MN; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Merlyn and Sue Hines, and Marvin and Joyce Hines, of Huron, SD; Jim and Joyce Hines of Nashville, TN, Richard and Yvette Hines of Huron, SD; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jan and John Wipf of Mitchell, SD. Her parents; sister-in-law Marjorie Hines; her grandparents, Elmer C. and Mabel Hines, John and Nanny Bonebrake; and her former husband, Clarence L. Adolphson, preceded her in death.
