Mabel Mildred Burke, resident of Spokane Valley joined her groom, Willie Burke, on what would have been their 75th wedding anniversary, and her Lord and Savior October 10, 2017. Upon entering the gates of Heaven, she heard the words "Well done thou good and faithful servant". Upon her departure from this world she was surrounded by her family and the loving staff of the Good Samaritan Home. Born on December 24, 1925 in Brownton, West Virginia to Ira and Leoda (Murphy) Simpson. She married the love of her life, Willie Gerald Burke on October 10, 1942 in Montrose, West Virginia. Surviving are her children and their spouses, John and Janie Burke, Ron and Sherry Burke, and Sandy and Fred Helbling. She leaves behind ten wonderful grandchildren, their spouses, twenty-six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews from Ohio, Colorado, West Virginia, Washington and Florida. In addition, she leaves behind numerous loving friends from Lewiston, Idaho and the Spokane Valley. Mabel's husband Willie, their son David and her eight siblings preceded her in death. Mabel's memorial service will be held October 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Samaritan, 17121 E. 8th Ave., Spokane Valley. Burial following memorial at Pines Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Good Samaritan, Spokane Valley. Her legacy of deep faith and her loving heart will be forever etched in our hearts.
