Betty Mae Holinka

Entered into rest on October 16, 2009 in Spokane, WA, her home for the past 63 years. Betty was born to Edward and Emma Barnes on July 17, 1927 in Tauton, MN. She married Frank Holinka in St. Louis, MO and they moved to Spokane in 1946. Betty was a homemaker, tending to her house and two children, David and Jayne while Frank worked at Pacific Intermountain Express. Gardening was a great joy of Betty’s life, as was their cabin on Bottle Bay of Lake Pend Orielle. Without question, Betty’s greatest love was her children and grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Frank. She is survived by her children; Dave (B.J.) Holinka of Post Falls, ID and Jayne (Steve) Pederson of Chattaroy, WA, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park Cemetery, Spokane, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210.
