Constance "Connie" Lynn (Day) Bittick (age 68) passed away in her sleep on October 16th. She was born on May 25, 1941, the youngest child of James W. and Sarah E. Day. She grew up in Chewelah, WA and graduated from Jenkins High School in 1959, where she played the trumpet in the band and served as a drum majorette. She married Jim Bittick, her high school sweetheart, in 1963. Her first daughter, Desiree, was born in 1964 and her second daughter, Aimee, was born in 1968. She worked in Spokane for the telephone company and at the National Car Rental desk at the airport. She also worked for several years in the bindery at Kroma Graphics. Connie enjoyed spending time with her young grandchhildren, who adored her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bittick. She is survived by her siblings, Diane Coryell (Jack) of San Jose, CA, Sally Harding of Chewelah, WA, Jo Ann Saylor (George) of Medical Lake, WA, and Jim Day of Chewelah, WA. She is also survived by her children, Desiree Vanderhoof (Mark) of Elk, WA and Aimee Morris (Tom) of Spokane, WA; her grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Connie was very loved and will be missed immensely. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to SpokAnimal C.A.R.E. 714 Napa Spokane, WA 99202. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division, Spokane, WA 99207, with Pastor Bob Smith officiating.
