Agnes Louise Hutts

Hutts, Agnes Louise (Amdahl) (age 89) entered into rest on October 16, 2009. Born in Hettinger, North Dakota on January 1, 1920, Agnes moved to Washington with her family in 1937. She began working in 1939 doing various jobs, and during the war worked at White Pine Sash cutting ammunition boxes. After the war, Agnes worked at the Chirrio Inn Cafe. She married Giles E. Hutts in 1946, spending 51 years together before his passing in 1997. Agnes was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker who worked hard for her family. She was always there to volunteer for any project and managed the Riverside and Darby Hotel while her husband worked out of town. Agnes loved to paint, made many quilts for her family, and enjoyed needlework. Agnes was a life member of Post #51 Veterans Auxiliary of Spokane, the Sons of Norway, a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star with memberships in the Leah and Spokane Chapters, Past Guardian of Jobs Daughters Bethel #7, Grand Third Messenger of Jobs Daughters, and belonged to a sewing club group for 60 years. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband Giles; sister, Clara Bentsen; brothers, Alfred, Clifford and Harold Amdahl. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Steve)Jones of Spokane; son, Clifford (Sherry) of McPherson, KS; grandchildren, Cyndi Selley, Don Jones, Melinda Eldridge, Brett Hutts; 5 great grandchildren with 2 on the way; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will begin at 10:00AM Friday, October 23, 2009 at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division Spokane, WA. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane PO Box 2215 Spokane, WA 99210 or to a charity of donor’s choice.
