VIOLETTE, Jay Orval, (Age 74) – Entered into rest on Christmas Day 2017 in Spokane, where he has lived for over 45 years. Born on April 2nd in Colville, WA to Adolph and Oma (Sanders) Violette, Jay graduated from Colville High School, WSU and Gonzaga Law School. He was a well respected attorney, practicing Civil Law in Spokane and semi-retiring in 2012. Jay was a Veteran of the US Army having served as a Specialist E-5, during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. A long-time member of the Sundance Golf Course Men’s Club and the Eagles Club, he enjoyed furniture restoration; but, his true passion was golf. In 1970, he married his wife, Charlene, and he is survived by her at their Spokane home. Jay is also survived by his son, Roger Violette and his wife, Kelly Fox Violette of Seattle; a granddaughter, Willow Violette also of Seattle; and a step-son, Chad Stone of Spokane. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, at 2:30 PM at the CHAPEL OF FLOWERS, RIPLINGER Funeral Home, 4305 N Division, Spokane, WA, 99207, Pastor Robert Smith officiating. Private interment preceded at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
