Sally R. Southerly

SOUTHERLY, Sally R. (Age 93) – Entered into rest on December 29, 2017 in Spokane, WA. Sally was born on February 2, 1924 to James E. Bloxom and Leola Dennis in Gillette, WY. There were 11 children in the family. She was the next to youngest and out lived all her brothers and sisters. Sally went through grade school in the rural district and went to high school in Sheridan and Gillette, WY. She took Normal Training and taught school in the early 40’s. Sally came to Spokane, WA in May of 1943. She worked at the Air Depot during WW II. Sally married Charles Southerly in November 1943. They had five sons, Richard C., Ronald W., Raymond D., Robert R. and Roger M. Southerly. He preceded her in death in 1990. She had been a care giver since 1980 and later retired in March 1996 and enjoyed it very much. She brought happiness to the elderly. Sally is survived by four sons, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA. Private interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Terrace Cemetery, Spokane, WA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
