Our beloved Patrick Timothy O’Brien returned to his Heavenly home on November 5, 2009, after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Born February 22, 1953, Pat grew up in Morgan Acres, where he developed a love of the outdoors, sports, skiing, cars, and adventure of all kinds. An avid outdoorsman, dirt bike riding, hiking and fishing were a daily part of Pat’s life. A 25 year Avista employee, Pat found his true vocation as a Journeyman Hydro Operator. Lasting friendships and unwavering commitment to quality service defined his career. A convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Pat shared his love of the Lord with everyone he met, in word and deed. He would give anyone in need the shirt off his back, and often literally did. Always there with candy in his pocket, Pat brought laughter, hope and childlike joy to everyone he met. His eternal devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends was demonstrated in every way, every day. Pat’s passing returns him to his loving parents Charles and Shirley O’Brien. He is survived by his devoted wife Tina, children Aaron O’Brien, Andrea O’Brien-Henley, Heather Henthorn, Ashley O’Brien, Timothy O’Brien, Crystal O’Brien, brother Michael O’Brien, sisters Cynthia O’Brien and Kelly O’Brien, 5 grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends beyond measure. Pat’s boundless humor, love and passion for life made our world a happier place, and he will remain in our hearts forever. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, Nov. 7th, between 2 PM and 5 PM and Nov. 8th, Sunday, between Noon and 5 PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N Division, Spokane. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 9th, 2009 at 12 Noon at the Franklin Park Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2112 W Francis, Spokane, WA.
