Ronnie D. Dixon

February 11, 1943 — January 9, 2018

Ronnie was born Feb. 11,1943 to Lorren & Ada Dixon in Latah, WA. As a teenager Ronnie drove truck for local farmers during "harvest season" and worked at the Pea Processing Plant. He graduated from high school in Fairfield. WA. Ronnie moved to Seattle and went to work for Boeing. During a lay-off from Boeing, he worked part-time for Convoy unloading cars at the piers. Convoy hired him full-time and he began hauling cars to Seattle area dealerships. Ronnie was then transferred back to Spokane where he delivered cars to dealerships throughout WA, OR, ID and MT. Over the years he worked for Convoy & TSD, finally retiring from Ryder. Ronnie worked hard to achieve his goal of retiring early and enjoying life. He loved taking his motor-home to Lake Havasu, AZ in the winter. Summers were spent on his boat at Coeur d' Alene Lake. Even after a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease he continued to enjoy this special life for over 10 yrs. He passed peacefully at Still Waters Adult Family Home on January 9, 2018. We would like to thank the owners and caregivers for their tender loving care for Ronnie. It meant so much to our family for Ronnie to be in such a loving home environment. Thank you also for the care and concern given to us personally. There will be no public services held at this time. A "Celebration of Life" will be held later in the spring. If interested, contact Cheryl Johnson at the end of April at 509-230-5317.
