Lena May McMurtery

MCMURTERY, Lena M. (Age 86) – Born on March 13, 1931 in Joplin, Missouri; entered into rest on January 24, 2018 in Spokane, Washington. Lena was a Spokane area resident for 70 years. She attended Joplin High School in Joplin, MO. Lena was a devoted housewife and mother, who also enjoyed Bingo, Dancing and occasional gambling. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Edith Keopke; brother, Leroy Keopke; former husband, Verne Pettis in 2011 and husband, Mike McMurtery in 2004. Lena is survived by daughter, Linda Trieber of Spokane; son, Jim Pettis of Spokane; daughter, Judy Miller of Spokane; daughter, Verna Jacobson of Airway Heights, WA; son, Dick Pettis of Spokane; sister, Dee Johnson of Spokane; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA. Interment will take place on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Ione, WA.
