KOCH, Agnes Theresa – Went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 29, 2018 in Spokane, WA. She was born in Glen Ulin, ND. She was the second of five children born to John and Gertrude Wurtz. She was in the second grade when they moved to Spokane and eventually settled in Peaceful Valley. What would have been her 9th grade, she went on to Morris School of Beauty. Agnes went on to work as a hairdresser for the next 68 years, retiring at age 83. She met and married Nick Koch in 1947 and together they had a son, Harvey. Agnes loved her Lord and served Him faithfully. She was active at St. Francis of Assisi where she was involved in many guilds and headed the Leisure League Luncheon for about 10 years. She has also been honored as the Catholic Business Woman of the year. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gertrude; husband, Nick (1980); sister, Anna Clark; and brother, Adam Wurtz. Agnes is survived by son, Harvey (Karen) of Spokane; granddaughter, Laurie Nisbet (Abe); grandson, Chad Koch of Arlington, WA; and two great grandchildren, Emerald and Isaac Nisbet. Also surviving are sister, Veronica Lucas of Duquense, PA; and brother, Ted Wurtz of Port Ludlow, WA. She has numerous nieces and nephews, with special devotion from nieces, Debi Kahl of Kettle Falls, WA and Marie Schultz of Spokane; and very good friend, Gena Greco. A special thank you to the staff at Royal Park Retirement Center who treated her like family and Horizon Hospice who treated her with dignity and respect. A rosary will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 N. Division, Spokane. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 4420 N. Jefferson St., Spokane. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Spokane, WA.
