We used to comb, braid, and style her beautiful hair. She was born with club feet and was a patient of Shriner’s Hospital. It didn’t slow her down. She played tennis at John Rogers High School and bowled at North Bowl and East Bowl. She bowled many WIBC National Tournaments around the Country. Later, she joined a Wii Bowling league competing against other senior facility teams. She coached many housemates since bowling was in her veins. She sang in the Roger’s High School Choir. She also loved to hear Sweet Adeline Harmony. Our Mom always had time and heart to help others. She dressed like a clown for many organizations. She volunteered at the Civic Theatre, Food Bank, the American Red Cross, Sheridan Elementary, Elder Care and was a member of the Kiwanis Golden K Club. She embroidered Pillow Cases which were often bid on at silent auctions for fundraisers. She loved to send and receive cards. We often called her Dolly Hallmark. She climbed the ranks in Rainbow Girls and Campfire Girls. Family and Friends extend a special Thank You to the care providers at Emilie Court Assisted Living and Alderwood Manor for rehab. We extend a special Thanks to SHMC staff on 7 North who kept her comfortable and calm. While they cared for Mom, they extended much care and support to us. We know Mom could hear Justine’s spiritual music of Thanatology. Father Joe, thank you too. Mom was listening. The Comfort Room at SHMC allowed us to be together. She passed so peacefully and with dignity.
