Dusty Rose Stratford

Stratford, Dusty Rose (Age 85) Dusty passed away December 3, 2009 in Spokane. She was born May 28, 1924 to Nick and Lena Dus in Mica, WA. She graduated from North Central High School. Dusty was an extremely kind and generous woman who spent most of her life helping others. She was a woman of many talents – a dancer, an artist, and a baker just to name a few. Most nights Dusty could be found dancing at the Eagles, enjoying a meal with friends or visiting her brother Ed. Her beloved red Cadillac would always get her where she wanted to go. She is loved by so many and will be truly missed. Her cakes, cards, and napkin drawings gave joy to all who knew her and will be cherished always. Dusty was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Harry Stratford; brothers, Pete and Dick Dus; sisters, Anna Couch, Bess Anderson, Mary Hines, and Eva Miller. She is survived by her brother, Ed Dus; step-daughters, Lee Maddux and Karla (Wes) Brustad and their children; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many dear friends. Services will be held at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. Division, on December 9, 2009 at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Dusty’s honor be directed toward the Spokane Humane Society, PO Box 6247, Spokane, WA 99217.
