Alice Katheryn "Katie" Summers

Alice Katheryn (Katie) Summers(age 81) was born February 14, 1928 and entered into rest unexpectedly on December 15, 2009 with her family by her side. Katie lived and attended school in Loon Lake, WA before moving to Spokane with her parents, where she graduated from Holy Names Academy in 1946. After graduation, she worked as an operator for Pacific Northwest Bell. In September of 1948, she married Dale Summers. He was the love of her life and the man she would spend her next 61 years with. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed sharing herself with family and friends and was deeply loved in return. She was Past Bethel Guardian of Job’s Daughters Bethel #64 and an honored recipient of the IOJD Evergreen Award. Katie is survived by her husband, Dale Summers; two children, William (Kathy) Summers and Gail (Rodney) Peterson; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her brother Gordon Wray Moore of Tucson, AZ. Her parents, Frank and Ethelyn Moore preceded her in death. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Doctors and staff at Medical Oncology Associates for the support and care they all gave to Katie and her family.
