Cindy Noyes passed away peacefully at the age of 75 in the early morning of April 6, 2018 at Providence Holy Family Hospital in Spokane.
Cindy was born in Nebraska on May 10, 1942 to Maurice & Claudia Weichel. The family later moved to California where she graduated from high school in Los Angeles and attended California State College, Los Angeles. She and her husband Michael Noyes met in college and were married in 1963. They moved to Spokane in 1973 where they raised their two children, Brenda and Steven.
Many will remember Cindy as a key staff member at the Spokane Guilds’ School for over 30 years where she was the Administrative Coordinator and involved from its early growth through the expanded development of the school. Cindy and husband Michael were active in Spokane Lilac Festival activities for many years, and served as First Lady and President in 2003. They enjoyed their Koi Pond, a feature of their large yard and garden, and were members of the Inland Empire Water Garden and Koi Society.
Cindy was known to her family and others as an energetic and enthused contributor to all projects, large and small. Obstacles became challenges and under her guidance, all worthwhile endeavors were given extra effort that exceeded all expectations. She always added the “wow” factor. Her positive attitude and ability to lighten dark days with a quick sense of humor will be missed.
Always an active participant in her children’s activities, she was involved in PTA, Girl Scouts as a Troup leader, and an active supporter and fan of all her son’s sports. She loved her family, gardening, gourmet cooking, family camping trips and traveling abroad after retirement. She will be especially remembered for her artistic skills in decorating and hosting many spectacular family holiday dinners, graduation parties, and other opportunities for festive celebrations. Her love of cats will be noted by all who knew her.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Michael, daughter Brenda, Bay Area, California; son Steven, daughter-in-law Terry, and grandson Luke, Portland, Oregon; sister Marcia Patrick and brother-in-law Jim, Seattle.
Memorials can be made to the Spokane Guilds’ School & Neuromuscular Center. A Celebration of Life for Cindy will be announced at a later date.
