Victor Close (07/28/1915 - 12/18/2009) CLOSE, Victor Victor Allen Close was born July 28, 1915 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to parents Earnest and Lyda Close. He had one older sister, Katherine Close. Vic met his life-partner, Loyce Kent, at North Side High School. He filled out the dance card for the junior prom noting "Lovely Loyce" for every dance and married her June 25, 1937. They had three sons: Jerry, Kenneth, Donald and one daughter, Cheryl. Pursuing a life dream, he opened Vic Close's Camera and Greeting Card Shop in downtown Spokane. After closing the business he was a member of the local Carpenter's Union, working multiple projects including millwright work to install generators in hydro dams on the Columbia River. Survived by his four children, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, Vic was called home to his Lord and Savior on December 18, 2009. Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 29, 2:00pm at Fairmount Cemetery.
