Marlene M. Slate

Slate, Marlene M. (age 78) entered into rest on December 21, 2009. She was born in Startup, WA on May 5, 1931 to parents Ted and Ruth McManus. Marlene graduated from Raymond High School. She married Kent Slate in 1951, and together they had four children. A 50 year resident of Spokane, Marlene was a member of the Hamblen Park Garden Club and loved her garden. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Marlene is survived by son, Steve Slate; daughters, Jackie Messinger and Jodie Lipsey; and brother Ted McManus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Ruth McManus; son, Richard Slate; and her brother, Richard McManus. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N.
