Orma Lucile Lorenson

August 18, 1915 — February 2, 2010

Orma Lucile Lorenson(age 94) entered into rest on February 2, 2010, in Spokane, WA. Orma was born on August 18, 1915, in Esmond, ND, to Harvey and Beatrice (Stevens) Hunter and attended Rich Valley School and Esmond High School. She married Harold R. Lorenson in 1936, and in 1942 they moved to the Spokane area. Orchard Prairie became their permanent home in 1952. Here they raised their children together and spent many happy years. They were members of Foothills Community Church, Spokane Campers, Good Sams, and Central Grange. Orma was active in Orchard Prairie Homemakers from 1952 until her death. Harold passed away in 1996. Orma worked for Riverside Retirement Home for 25 years. She always enjoyed sewing, cooking, oil painting, and traveling the world over - especially with her grandchildren. Although she was Scottish, she embraced Harold's Norwegian heritage and delighted in preparing lutefisk and sharing her perfect lefse with her family. She and Harold lovingly prepared Christmas dinner for 67 years for their large extended family. She is survived by her sister, Edythe Jacobson; her children, son and daughter-in-law, Gene E. and Jane Lorenson, daughter and son-in-law, Faye O. and Mike Richardson, and son and daughter-in-law, James H. and Annette Lorenson; eight grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 8 at 2:00 P.M. at Foothills Community Church, 11102 N. Forker, Spokane, WA 99217. Orma's remains will be laid to rest privately next to her beloved husband Harold at Orchard Prairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice House of Spokane
