Pauline Lester Marr(age 97) was born August 30, 1912 to William B. and Henrietta E. Lester in Round Bottom,Virginia. The family moved to Kila, Montana in 1914. The eldest of six children, Pauline had three sisters, Virginia, Wilna, Beva, and two brothers, John and Robert. Pauline came to Spokane in 1930 to attend Business School. After graduating, she worked briefly for Inland Seed and then worked 38 years for the Spokane Flour Mill, retiring in 1973. Pauline married Alexander Marr in 1940 enjoying many years together, until he passed away in 1978. They enjoyed vacationing Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and dancing at Natatorium Park to live bands on Friday and Saturday nights. Both were longtime members of Westminster Presbyterian Church serving however needed. Pauline was compassionate and wonderful to family, fellow employees, neighbors, and friends. She was always there to offer a helping hand. Pauline was an elegant dresser, and fastidious in the way she did everything from bookwork to keeping house. She was a beautiful lady in every way. Pauline is survived by her sister Beva Bingham, and brother, John (Jack) Lester, and four generations of nieces and nephews. We will miss you Pauline, all of our lives have been enriched because you were part of them. Visitation will begin at 9:00AM on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division St., Spokane, WA with a “Celebration of Life” beginning at 3:00PM, Pastor Don Liebert officiating.
