James Allen Wittman

January 18, 1933 — March 10, 2010

James A. Wittman(age 77) passed away on March 10, 2010 at his home in Colbert from medical complications. James was born on January 18, 1933 to Mr. and Mrs. William E. Wittman in Los Angeles, CA. He attended Benjamin Franklin High School in Highland Park, CA and L.A. City College in Los Angeles, CA. In 1950, he entered the U.S. Army and went on to become a “C.B.” in the USN Reserve, serving his country proudly. He married Patricia A. Grant in 1957, and she preceded him in death on July 30, 2009. Jim worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Parks & Recreation Department in Los Angeles, retiring after 21 year of service. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America serving as Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Unit Commissioner, and Board of Review member. Jim was an Eagle Scout and received a Silver Beaver Award. His hobbies included home repairs, automotive rebuilding. He also did spa and sewing machine service. Jim is survived by his son James Kelly Wittman of Spokane; foster son, Howard R. Rosell and his wife Debi of Colbert, WA; brother Robert and his wife Pat Wittman of Prescott, AZ; nephews Kurt and his wife Evelyn Wittman of CA and Eric Wittman of Prescott, AZ; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 great nephew. A “celebration of Jim’s life” will be held at a later date. Those wishing to attend may contact Howard for date and time.
