Fonda Elizabeth Baker

Fonda Elizabeth Baker (age 73) passed away on March 13, 2010 at home surrounded by loved ones after a very short battle with cancer. Fonda was born on October 25, 1936 to Frank and Ida Clarke in Usk, WA. A longtime Spokane resident, she worked at the Crescent, Phone Company, and Ridgeview Elementary School. Fonda married Melvin J. Baker in 1957 and would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on March 22, 2010. Her parents and four sisters preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Mel; son, Dale (Bobbie) Baker; daughter, Lisa (Paul) Cummins; 5 wonderful grandsons, John (Christina) Baker, Luke Baker, Ryan Baker, David Layne, and Kyler Layne; 2 great-grandsons, David Jr. and Caiden. Fonda will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be today Wednesday, March 17 from 9:00am to 8:00pm at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division Spokane, WA. A private family interment at Peone Prairie Cemetery will take place.
