John Lesley Garnsey

(age 92) Heaven’s gates opened to John April 8, 2010. John was born on November 3, 1917 in Spokane, WA. Preceded in death by his devoted wife, Leila May, John continued to enjoy his four children, Mary Meese, Anna Smith, David Garnsey, and Patty Payne, along with his 10 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. John worked for the Great Northern Railroad for 35 years, traveling from Seattle to Whitefish and Troy, Montana. He was an avid fisherman, reeling in the “big ones” from all the fresh water lakes that the great northwest had to offer. John had a workshop at home where he crafted many cherished items for family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held 10:00 AM Monday, April 12that Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division in Spokane. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Rockwood at Hawthorne or Horizon Hospice.
