Dorothy Erma Studabaker

STUDABAKER, Dorothy E. (age 85) – Dorothy passed away on May 18th, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s . She was born near Hauser Lake,Idaho the day after Christmas 1924 to Roy and Alta Logan, the second of four children. The family then moved to Newman Lake, where she spent her childhood. Dorothy went to one-room schools until fourth grade. When the schools were consolidated, she finished school at Otis Orchards graduating in 1943. She worked for Alcoa during WW II and for Kaiser during the Korean War. She married the love of her life, James Studabaker in November 1944. It was a union lasting more than sixty-five years. Dorothy and Jim were blessed with two loving children, Roy and Julie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Roy; her sister, Lottie; and her brothers, Norman and Loren. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Jim; her daughter, Julie; her grandson, David; and several nieces and nephews. Viewing opportunity will be on Friday and Saturday, May 21st and 22nd, between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM at Riplinger Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 24th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the CHAPEL OF FLOWERS, RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, N 4305 DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA, with Pastors Tom Ashbury and Josh Tucker officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at The Pines Cemetery, Spokane Valley, WA. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name to Hospice of Spokane, POB 2215, Spokane, WA 99210.
