Sunnie passed away at home on June 13, 2010 of natural causes. She was born on June 23, 1918 to Edward J. Morin and Grace Willett Morin. She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1937. Sunnie was a life-long resident of Spokane/Spokane Valley. She was predeceased by her brothers Edward, Emmett, and John Morin, and is survived by a sisterin- law, Hermina Morin, a cousin, Ann Davis, and several nieces and nephews. After retiring as a claims representative for MSC, Sunnie began a new career as a nanny, indulging her love of babies and children. She was blessed with many friends, loved Priest Lake and dancing. Although weakened by stroke, her inner strength soared. The last two-and-a-half years were a lesson in humor, compassion, love, and the intensity of the human spirit. We laughted far too hard and made a fool of the stroke that tried to keep her down. We will miss "Little Mary Sunshine," our mom. Sunnie is survived by a son, Bill Bennett, Spokane Valley; a daughter, Mary Lue Wilson, California; a grandson, Jeff Wilson, California; a granddaughter, Laurie Wilson (Vincent Renner), France; and two great grandchildren, Madeline and Tristan Renner, France. Evangelina is an angel who came into our lives. Eva walked in the door and she and mom began to laugh. To see Sunnie smile and hear her laugh was such a joy. Eva provided excellent care matched with equal amounts of TLC. To the many other people who helped along this journey, thank you for your professionalism, care, compassion, and love. At her request, no funeral services will be held. Burial is private. There will be a Celebration of Life later in the summer. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane, PO Box 2215, Spokane, WA, 99210-2215 or to any charity of choice.
