Clifford L. Bower "Cliff" (age 80) entered into rest on July 5, 2010. Cliff was born on May 17, 1930 in Troy, ID to parents Joseph and Gertrude Bower. Cliff has been a resident of Spokane for over 60 years. He served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corp, receiving his honorable discharge in 1950. Cliff married his loving wife, Macel Claflin, in 1946 and together they raised their family. Macel preceded Cliff in death in 2002. He worked as a millwright for Kaiser Aluminum – Trentwood, until retiring in 1994. Cliff enjoyed playing the banjo and the guitar, dancing, camping and fishing. An active member of the community, Cliff was a lifetime member of North Hill Masonic Lodge #210, Scottish Rite Bodies, and El Katif Shrine, a member of the Directors Staff, Valley Shrine Club, North Spokane Shrine Club, Eagles Aerie #2, and the Moose Lodge. Cliff is survived by his children, sons, Robert and Richard Bower and daughters, Dixie Zachow and Denise Brewer all of Spokane; brothers, Don Bower of Spokane and Frank Bower of Kamiah, ID; sisters Wanda Moore of Los Angeles, CA and Evelyn Dahlin of Kamiah, ID; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral service will be graveside beginning at 1:00PM Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery 5909 S. Cheney-Spokane Rd.
