William Jack Honeycutt, "BILL"

HONEYCUTT, William Jack “Bill”, ‘BJ’ (age 82) – Born in Spokane on December 10, 1927, to Francis and Nellie (Cope) Honeycutt, Bill, entered into rest on August 15, 2010 in Spokane Valley, WA. He attended local schools and graduated from Hill Military School in Portland, OR. He also attended Eastern Washington College, now EWU. Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict and upon returning home from his service duty, he joined the family business, Honeycutt Real Estate, selling lake front property. He later opened a car lot, doing business as “BJ Motors”. Bill was a proud Mopar- guy and owned some remarkable automobiles, two of which currently reside in the Chrysler Museum in Detroit. He also was an expert on all things “Jeep”. Bill was a charter member of the HASSIE Club, a member of Orchard Masonic Lodge #200, Scottish Rite Bodies, Life Member and Past Potentate (1994) of El Katif Shriners, where he was also a charter member of South Spokane Shrine Club, member of North Spokane Shrine Club, Valley Shrine Club, Legion of Honor, the Mobile Unit, Clowns, and recipient of the Jewel of El Katif. He was a member and Past Director of the ROJ, member of the Royal Order of Scotland, Past Director and Vice President of the Spokane Lilac Festival, and a member and Past Chairman of the Spokane County Fair Board. In his spare time, Bill, enjoyed fishing, hunting and his Black Labs. Bill married the love of his life, Beverly Thompson in 1953, and they shared 57 years together. He is survived by his wife, Beverly at their home; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Thompson and Robert Green; nephew, Dan Green; and numerous cousins. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the CHAPEL OF FLOWERS, RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N DIVISION, and Chaplain Harold Tucker officiating with Rose Croix participating. Private interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park Cemetery.
