Esther Darlene McCauley

Esther Darlene McCauley (Ziegler) Was born to Fritz L. Ziegler & Elmira Harris on June 26th, 1923 in St. Joseph, Missouri and she died Sunday August 15th, 2010 at Sacred Heart Hospital due to a sudden onset of cerebral failure. Esther married Lawrence R. McCauley in Missouri on April 6th, 1940 & spent all of her life as wife, mother, and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 50 years in 1998 and by 3 brothers & 3 sisters. She is survived by Four children: Son Lawrence R. McCauley Jr.; Son Jim L. McCauley (spouse Joanne), Daughter Lorilee A. Gill (spouse Rick). Son Kim L. McCauley; 4 grandchildren Jimmy Dean McCauley, Jeff McCauley, Paige Gill,and Therese Hill, 5 great-grandchildren, and brothers Jimmy Dale Ziegler, Donald Ziegler, & step brother Fritz Lea Ziegler. Esther lived exactly 60 years in the same West Central neighborhood home before moving to a small cottage house built just for her on her daughter's land. She was an active member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, YWCA, Eagle's Aerie #2, Al-Anon, RETINS. Mom stayed busy in her home cooking and cleaning and keeping house and always welcoming to family and friends who would stop by to visit, she enjoyed the final years listening to the sounds of the country and marveling daily that she never before got to see so many mountains. A peaceful rocking on her porch swing in the summer was a great joy to her. She was always willing to lend a hand to others when she saw the need. A warm & curious person who always interacted vibrantly with family & friends, as often as she could. She will be missed by all those who knew her. Visitation will be Friday August 20 from 9:00AM to 8:00PM at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division in Spokane. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11:30 A.M. at Riplinger Funeral Home. Interment at Spokane Memorial Gardens to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister Esther's name to her church, Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 1727 W. Mission, Spokane, WA 99201.
