Charles D. Laird

Charles D. Laird (age 78) entered into rest on August 16, 2010. He was born on April 5, 1932 in Colville, WA to parents Esther and John William Howard Laird. After graduating high school, Charlie served in the United States Navy from 1952 - 1956, receiving his honorable discharge. In June of 1957, he married his loving wife of 53 years, Darlene Christensen. Charlie drove bus for the Spokane Transit Authority for 35 years before his retirement. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, and "Las Vegas". During their years together, he and Darlene were able to enjoy many fun trips to Las Vegas. Charlie is survived by his wife, Darlene; sons Bill Laird and Tammy Carter and Mark Christensen; grandsons, Brad and wife Tara Laird and Jeff Inman; great-grandchildren, Brad Jr. and Charlie Laird and Evan and Tess Inman. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda and daughter-in-law, Lois. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 20, 2010 at Riplinger Funeral Home & Crematory 4305 N. Division, Spokane, WA.
