Mamie L. Picard went to be with her Lord on September 8th, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Mamie is survived by her husband of 57 years Lee Picard, their son Bradley Picard, daughters Kathleen Picard-Miller (Loren), Susan Picard, and Linda Picard-Sprague. She is preceded in death by her youngest daughter Pamela Picard, her parents John and Lillian Stach and her brother Richard Stach and his wife Alice, her sister-in-law Chic Picard, and nephew Mike Cmos. Mamie was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Steven Miller (Nao), Teresa Hayden (Derek), Travis Picard, Jessica McDaniel (Graem), Tara Picard, Matthew Picard, Michael Picard and Rebecca, Rachel, Sarah and Daniel Sprague; and five great-grandchildren: Doss, Lydia and Rafe Hayden and Preston and Hallee McDaniel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Wallace, Idaho on November 6th, 1931 to John and Lillian Stach. Mamie left home at age 16 to attend Mary Cliff High School for Girls in Spokane, then graduated from Holy Names Academy with a Bachelor’s in Science. She went on to Sacred Heart School of Medical Technology. Mamie married Lee on August 2, 1953 in Nez Perce, ID and moved to Evanston, Illinois were Lee attended DeVry Technical Institute. In 1957 they moved back to Spokane where she remained. Mamie was employed by Rockwood Clinic for over 35 years as the best Medical Technologist. After retirement, she dabbled in local politics as a member of the infamous "Gang of Nine". Mamie enjoyed camping, sailing and tennis, but most of all her family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. At her request, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers and gifts, please donate to the Hospice House of Spokane.
