Vena L. Gore

October 14, 1925 — September 9, 2010

Vena Gore went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2010, in Spokane, Washington. She was born on October 14, 1925 in Oklahoma, the daughter to Roy and Della Acord. Vena grew up in the south, but moved to Grand Coulee, Washington after marrying William (Bill) Gore on March 15, 1946, soon after his discharge from the military following World War II. The couple made their home in Grand Coulee, and Vena was very active in homemaking and church related activity until Bill’s retirement from Grand Coulee Dam in 1975. Soon thereafter, Vena and Bill moved to Spokane, where they have made their home since that time. Vena will be remembered as an extraordinarily outgoing Christian woman who was gifted with powers of good cheer and encouragement that touched countless lives over the years. Her loving family will always cherish the memory of her undivided attention to the details of their lives, her prayers, and her many expressions of confidence in God’s grace. Vena is survived by her husband Bill, her two children, Bruce and Mary Lynn, her grandchildren Noelle, Brent, Kyle, and Shelby, and her 11 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 N. Division, Spokane on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Memorial services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar, Spokane, at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 19.
