MAGGARD, Patrick A. (Age 82) Patrick peacefully passed away Sunday September 26th, 2010. He was surrounded by his family. Patrick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Patrick was born in Spokane, WA to Chester and Myrtle Maggard on October 1, 1927. He attended Lewis and Clark High School. Pat joined the Army Air Corps in December 1945 to October 1948. He was a sergeant and served with the 925th engineering Aviation General Purpose in Alaska; now known as Ft. Richardson. After 35 years as a pipe fitter at Kaiser Aluminum he happily retired. He enjoyed retirement fishing for Kokanee in numerous lakes. He was an avid gardener always showing off the height of his tomato plants. The greatest love of his life was his family. Pat met his beautiful wife Twila on New Year’s Eve 1950 and they married one and a half months later. They have been married just shy of 60 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and 13 siblings. He is survived by his loving wife Twila, sister Joyce Morin (Bud), brother Wayne, daughter Gloria White, son Brad Maggard, granddaughters Ann Sutter (Scott), Jen Kennedy (Allen), Sonja Thomas and ten greatgrandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday September 30, 2010 at 2:00pm at Pines Mausoleum in Spokane Valley with military honors at the graveside. The family will be holding a celebration of life at Orchard Crest Assisted Living in Spokane Valley immediately after the funeral. Pat’s family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff at Sullivan Park Care Center for all their loving care and support they have given to Pat and his family this past year.
