Charles W. Watchinski

Watchinski, Charles W. (age 86) entered into rest on October 9, 2010. Charles was born January 31, 1924 in Bloomington, Illinois to parents Walter and Bessie Watchinski. He entered the United States Marine Corps in June of 1943, served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII and received his honorable discharge in February of 1946. Charles married Mary Gwendolyn “Gwen” Glomb in 1946 and together they raised their family. Charles worked as a retail clerk in the grocery business, beginning as a stock clerk, moving up to assistant manager and to manager. He worked many years for Albertson’s in Palmdale before retiring in 1984. Charles enjoyed golfing, bowling, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Gwen; son, Rick (Jennifer) Watchinski of Laguna Niguel, CA; daughters, Kathy (Gary) Anderson of Spokane and Anita Hossele of Oregon; grandchildren, Robert, Anna, Phil, Susie, Nichole, Sarah, Bret, and Jessica; and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be at the Northstar Apartments on N. Cedar in Spokane on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM. Interment will take place on October 18, 2010 at the St. Andrew's Priory in Valyermo, CA.
