Arlene L. Preuss

Arlene Lucille Preuss went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 20, 2010. Arlene was born February 17, 1924 on a farm near Strawberry Point, Iowa to Herman and Lillie Otdoerfer. She attended Upper Iowa University and taught country school during WWII. Arlene married Edward Preuss on March 5, 1944. They had three children, Gregory, Janet, and William. She lived in Iowa, Wyoming, Arizona, and Washington. Arlene was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church, most recently Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Spokane. Arlene was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Preuss (1976) and Victor Steege (1998); her brother, Roger; daughter, Janet Dorsch; and granddaughter, Amanda Dorsch. She is survived by her sister Gladys Kraus of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sons, Gregory (Doreen) of Mead, WA and William (Marge) of Renton, WA; son-in-law, Rev Timothy Dorsch of Fairmont, OK; grandchildren, Gretchen (Roman) Vasquez, Cara Preuss, Bryan (Sarita) Preuss, Amy (Justin) Vance, Benjamin Dorsch, Daniel (Angie) Dorsch, Michael Preuss, and Austin Preuss; and six great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff at Royal Plaza Assisted Living and Royal Park Care Center for her care for the last several years. Holy Cross Lutheran Church Endowment Fund and The Alzheimer's Association are suggested for memorials in Arlene's name. A memorial service will begin at 2:00PM on Friday, October 29, 2010 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church 7307 N. Nevada Spokane,WA. Interment will take place at the Beth El Cemetery in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
