Springer, Betty Jean(Lyons) (age 84) Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend entered into rest on November 30, 2010 unexpectedly. Betty was born on November 17, 1926 to Selma and William H. Lyons in Cheney, WA. She was the fifth child of 15 brothers and sisters. Betty married Joseph C. Springer Sr. in 1943 and together they raised their family. A lifetime resident of the Spokane area, Betty worked as a meat wrapper for the Armour Meat Co. and at S& P meats for many years. She was a member of Corbin Community Center, North Star, and Sinto Senior Centers. Betty enjoyed playing Bunco, loved to go dancing at the various Senior Centers, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph Springer Sr. in 1990; son, Joseph C. Springer Jr.; daughter, Patricia Buckner (Springer); her parents; two sisters; and six brothers. Betty is survived by daughters, Dee (Terry) Hughes and Jeanne (Robert) McKelvy; son, Ray Springer; sisters, Barbara Weedmark and Janet Griswald; brothers, Jack (Lexi) Lyons, James (Suzi) Lyons, Harold (Penny) Lyons, and baby brother, Paul Lyons; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, December 4 from 9:00 – 5:00PM and Monday from 9:00 – 12:30PM at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division Spokane, WA. Funeral service will begin at 1:00PM on Monday, December 6, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment will take place following the service at Greenwood Memorial Terrace Cemetery.
